“He who does not know his past cannot define his future.”
(1881 – 1938)
The Saçaklıoğlu family-owned business dates back to 1930s. It was founded by Vahdettin Saçaklıoğlu (1914–2002) and Ayşe Saçaklıoğlu (1925–2002).
The company started as a small retailer and agricultural producer.
In 1955 Hüseyin Saçaklıoğlu (1945–1996) and İbrahim Halil Saçaklıoğlu joined the enterprise. Later on Ömer Saçaklıoğlu (1958–2020) took the reins of the business, and it was under his leadership that the company grew and evolved unlike ever before.
The family diversified its business by opening a chain of grocery stores, restaurants, and bakeries, furniture workshops, textile and jewellery shops as well as engaged in gas supply and oil trade operations.
As time went on construction and professional development of multi-storey residential buildings, office blocks, industrial buildings, hotels, multifunctional facilities and shopping centres became the core business of the Saçaklıoğlu family-owned enterprise. In 1970 the company built its first real estate project in the city of Şanlıurfa in the east of Turkey.
Since then we have completed over a hundred real estate projects of various categories.
Here are some of the socially important projects that marked major milestones for the company:
“I belong to the third generation of Saçaklıoğlu line. A long time ago I joined our family company in Istanbul and climbed the career ladder all the way from the bottom to the top.
I am the founder of Bosphorus Development, a Ukrainian-based development company, whose mission is to build real estate projects both in Ukraine and abroad to the highest professional standard.
We aim to bring our many years’ experience and development expertise to Ukraine. Being a responsible corporate citizen, we hire the best international experts, engineers, and architects to build projects which create added value for communities and exist in harmony with the environment.
Reputation means everything to us. The company’s reputation is our family’s reputation, and living up to it is an honour.”
